Make Nano-Silver, Not Mud!

30 Years of Experience with Colloidal Silver

It seems to happen like clockwork…

Whenever an article about the SILVERengines proton is posted on Facebook or in any forum, there suddenly appear at least one or two voices questioning the value of the machine, or boasting about how they bought a silver making kit from eBay or Craigslist for $100 or less.

Hi, I’m Duncan Cary Palmer.

I designed the SILVERengines proton to be the most compact, fully automated, easiest to use nano silver generator on the market. Used according to directions, it will reliably and repeatably make nano-particle silver solutions every bit as good as the expensive ready-made preparations that you might buy from Amazon or from your local health-food store for $40 a pint or more.

The nay-sayers on the forums may have you wondering what exactly might be inferior about the <$100 bargain setups that they brag about when compared to the more pricey SILVERengines proton. Is the SILVERengines proton really worth the extra cost? And, if so, what makes the difference?

Mud Makers…

Let’s take a look at how “bargain basement” silver makers work. Most of them are based on “Banishing Disease With Three Nine Volt Batteries,” written decades ago by Mark Metcalf. While the article introduced many to the notion that it was possible to make a powerfully effective antimicrobial solution at home, it unfortunately promotes some serious errors that are still being propagated to this day. Perhaps the worst is the idea of using salt to speed up the process, sadly resulting in the production of undesirable compounds of silver. In other words, don’t follow those directions!

Nine out of ten of the “bargain machines” start with a voltage source (usually batteries) and some silver wire. Those are, of course, the basic requirements for transferring silver ions into solution, but if you stop there, you soon run into trouble.

As silver ions disperse into the water, the conductivity of the water increases, gradually at first, but then increasingly rapidly as more and more ions enter the solution. Before you know it, the level of current passing between the rods becomes quite high, producing a low quality product comprised of large particles.

The current also flows only and always in one direction, with the result that a veritable forest of silver oxide “whiskers” grows and accumulates on the rods, leaving you with a jar of silver oxide “mud.”

Some machines add a resistor or small lamp bulb in series with the voltage. This has the effect of (more or less) limiting the current, but it does not control the current. Other machines may add an LED to give a very subjective indication of the progress of the batch of silver, but the end result is still the same: rapidly rising current, large particle size, and silver oxide build-up on the rods; e.g., “mud.”

Is it possible to benefit from such a machine?

I won’t deny that there is some benefit. Getting almost any amount of silver into your system is beneficial, but to be reasonably safe and successful with one of these bargain units requires careful and tedious monitoring of the process and painstaking timing. You must be available minute by minute, ready to turn the system off before it “runs away” and leaves you with a mess on your hands.

The SILVERengines proton

Enter, the sophisticated SILVERengines proton! With over thirty years of personal experience making and using nano-silver, I wanted to incorporate everything that I’ve learned so that you, as a consumer, won’t hit the potholes and speed bumps that I’ve encountered through the years. Lets look at a list of some of the most significant features of the SILVERengines protondesign, and how they benefit you as a consumer.

Constant Current

While the “mud makers” described above don’t prevent current run-away, the SILVERengines proton, start to finish, constantly monitors the current passing between the silver rods. As more and more ions of silver enter solution, conductivity increases. The SILVERengines proton responds by gradually reducing the voltage between the rods in order to manage and maintain an optimum current level. The result? The highest quality silver solution containing uniformly nano-scale particles.

Polarity Reversing

Mud makers universally suffer from silver oxide build-up on the rods, but the SILVERengines proton periodically reverses the flow of current between the rods. This results in a natural electrical “stirring” of the solution and minimizes the amount of rod cleaning necessary between uses (if any) to simply wiping with a clean piece of paper towel.

Additionally, because electrical charge tends to cluster around sharp points ( please see the last four slides of the lecture here: https://www.slideshare.net/shaolin69/lecture19-electriccharge ) the SILVERengines proton’s rods are intentionally shaped with a curve at the bottom, and are positioned so their tips are above the water level, leaving only smoothly rounded surfaces in contact with the water. Once again, the result is very uniform, ultimately small silver particles.

Why are small particles so important? Consider for a moment the difference between drinking a glass of sweet tea and swallowing the same amount of sugar as a single cube… Which is better? The smaller the particles of silver (there are trillions of silver atoms and particles in a pint of 10ppm nano-silver) the more widely they are able to disperse throughout your body, and the more effective they can be against microbes.

Positive Indicators

All of the bargain machines require a lot of guesswork and timing to “get things right.” How many PPM are you generating? How bright is that light? How long has it run? You’d better be paying really close attention every step of the way. Oops, did you forget to turn it off? Better dump out the water, clean it all up, and just start over!

By contrast, the nano-silver making process in the SILVERengines proton, managed by a tiny computer, always gives you a positive indication of when your silver solution is ready. Is the light still Blinking Blue? Not ready yet. Is it Blinking Green? Yes? Then you know your silver is done.

Oh, did you forget you were making a batch? No worries; when the process is done, the SILVERengines proton computer turns off all current to the rods. You can use your silver immediately, or you can come back tomorrow with no worries because the process is managed and turned off automatically for you. You always get a beautifully clear, consistent pint of nano-particle silver solution.

Universal Power Source

Forget about battery replacement, and you don’t need three batteries. We chose the most widely available, safe, low-voltage power source in the world today – the universally available USB standard of 5-volt power. A sophisticated circuit inside the SILVERengines proton takes that 5 volt power source and pumps it up to about 27 volts to “jump-start” the silver making process. What does this mean for you?

If you want to make nano-silver powered by sunlight, solar USB power supplies are available. If you want to run on battery power, you can find a wide variety of rechargeable battery packs. If you travel, you can walk into almost any store in the world and pick up a USB power source suited to the local electrical supply. You can even power your SILVERengines proton from a jack in the side of your laptop!

Water Quality Pre-Test

During start-up, the SILVERengines proton actually checks the quality of the distilled water in the mason jar for you. Why is this important?

Tap water and even bottled water contain minerals and other impurities which, when combined with silver, may produce compounds that are not particularly healthful for you – compounds such as silver nitrate or silver chloride.

That jug you got from the supermarket is labeled “Distilled Water,” right? Do you keep your distilled water locked up at night? Are you absolutely sure that, when you weren’t around, no one emptied it and thoughtlessly refilled it with tap water?

Fear not; every time you start your SILVERengines proton, it checks the water for conductivity. If it finds the conductivity to be very low (i.e. distilled water), the SILVERengines proton will proceed to process a good batch of nano-silver. However, if it detects anything other than pure distilled water, it will give you a distinct indication of the fact (a rapidly flashing Red or Pink light) and it will refuse to process the water.

I’m not aware of any other product currently on the market that both positively and clearly indicates contaminated water, and also shuts itself down so that you won’t have to worry about inadvertently drinking unwanted silver compounds.

In Short, the SILVERengines proton is One Smart Machine

Compared to the bargain boxes that you might buy, your SILVERengines proton is a genius-level expert when it comes to making nano-particle silver solutions. You can just start it up and walk away, confident that when you come back and find it Blinking Green you will have a batch of the best ionic / colloidal silver on the planet ready and waiting for you.

In the final analysis, as with every consumer purchase decision, the choice of whether to buy a SILVERengines proton or something else comes down to a matter of personal judgement. What exactly you are looking for in a “home-brew” silver machine? How valuable is your time and attention? How do you feel about the quality and safety of your results? As the old adage goes, “You get what you pay for,” and when it comes to making quality nano silver at home, the SILVERengines proton shines where other inferior products are trouble prone, ineffective, and difficult to use.
